7 days makes one weak

It's like that fire still burns
no one even needs to turn
the low glow of the embers
just words said and a heart that remembers
silly rabbits
and a text book of bad habits
Since aya
I've uh
Experienced bliss
that just keeps my sorrow eclipsed
Hobbled hearts, spades, clubs, and diamonds
a full house if you will but I can't find them
They just keep coming at me
and I keep waiting to see
who
...always you...

Hey, wanna talk about it?

Click this before reading :D
I've been feeling the backslide since my birthday and this weekend I'm firmly pumping the brakes on it all.  Getting back to the things that matter and pwning life.  The past few days have been a low (for me) and it all came crashing to a head with a not so good exchange between my sister and I.  There were many things about the exchange that really agitated me but I've only come here to share a few with the internet.

Oh! Internet!

I love you...
The meme's
Pointless youtube videos and even more pointless bantering back n forth comments about peoples subjective takes on things
Can't forget that social cesspool known as facebook
...truly I love you

You show us just how myoptic man kind can be in the face of it's saving grace.  I'm aware that the above aren't really what the internet is about.  However, I find a lot of people I interact with really gravitate to those things, and what's worse build their lives around them.  The saddest part for me, is just watching the deterioration of peer to peer communication these past few years and feeling rather helpless with it all.  I do what I can, where I can, hell, writing this is an attempt to re-connect people with that lost art of talking to strangers and dare I say...Loved ones.

Our advances in communication have given us the ability to reach across the globe and interact with people we may never come to meet personally.  I find this to be remarkable and have definitely improved as an artist because of these advances.  However, as I walk about my day to day, I see people locked in their boxes, and paying no mind to the very souls sitting next to them.  It's as if this desire to only speak to whom we want to, when we want to, has made us def to the underlying cries of sorrow that sometimes sit a few feet away on the bus.  O.k., yes, the heart is bleeding, on my digital sleeve, but this sort of apathy doesn't spring up over night.  It is planted, in us, in our communities, and I'm not wise enough to know but can't help but feel it serves a greater purpose to a greater few.

So, back to my problem at hand, and I know...
...It's my problem...or as I like to think of it...Lesson.

She, thinks, because she saw me comment on a picture via that book of faces, with someone I told her previously I have no communication with (his choice), that I'm lying to her, and actually can speak to him.  As this all settles in my heart, I'm scared for the future, because I didn't get a phone call, and we sure didn't get to talk it out face to face.  For what seems like the 10th time in as little as two months, I got the axe from someone I didn't mean to get it from, and I'm left laughing to myself alone in this warehouse play land.  When we fail to talk things out, communicate our intentions, and re-establish common ground distance becomes vast.

So tomorrow I'll have more time to think about it all and wait patiently to do the thing I enjoy doing 3rd most with people...talking :D  Guess I'm old school or something of that nature but to me it's what works.  Just because ya talk things out, doesn't mean both parties are going to be bud's, or everything is o.k. but at least the process is starting to come back to the middle.

My internet plea...
Talk to your surroundings, listen when they talk back, and keep the lines of communication open.

The evolution of Protest

let me first start by saying... Power to the people! We are all divine creatures born true and equal. I've seen in the previous years an astounding awakening through out the world and I can only hope that in the years to come we continue to grow in numbers. Today I tickle these black keys from the safety of my city sanctuary to say some things to those getting ready to rage against the machine. The G8 summit will be happening in a little over a week and with it I see much chaos being stirred up in the great city of Chicago. When the occupy movement first caught fire last year I was there for the baby steps and was rather impressed. I was reminded of a time that people said was gone forever, I saw people ranting, preaching, and singing for things we all feel. The decrease of forward deployed troops, equal distribution of wealth, and a return to healthier living. I'm being vague in my writings because I'm in now way shape or form a journalist. I'm just a concerned citizen, I'm a person who attempts to look into the future and save people from great pain. The world has changed since those great civil rights movements of the 60's. We've evolved as activist, as artists, as conscientiousness antagonist, and our means for expressing the angst we feel have too. I watched many peaceful people get maced, shot with non-lethal ammunition, and ruffed up in a variety of ways. Please look back in the past six months to the insanity that took place in Oakland and all the chaos that broke out in New York. Reports of unknown instigators destroying public property, provoking authorities to use force on the crowd, and creating an extremely hostile situation. As I look out into the past, take in some of the "conspiracy" theories that float about these days, and now set my sites on this rather large event coming up, I come to a few conclusions. Please, take these as my opinions, if you agree share them, if you disagree discuss, but thanks in advance for taking the time to read them. The revolution will be televised and the fear machine this country has built will be painting it's master piece. Innocent college students getting trampled, old hippies getting carted away and incarcerated for banging on a drum. Tear gas, cattle prods, and a variety of other riot weapons descending upon protesters with no means to defend themselves. I've sat on the sidelines and watched the powers that be pass alarming new legislation in preparation for the summit. This leads me to believe that there will be a lot of arrests, many fines paid, and many innocent people exploited for attempting to express how they feel. The times, they have, and are "a Changing". I've seen more good come from online protests then the entire occupy movement thus far. The question becomes will we change with them or get swallowed up by the mob of the crowd? Personally, I've been taking radical steps to drastically change around my life and become an example of how to peacefully rage against the machine, and hope to show others how to do the same. There are a variety of online petitions to sign, to get the voice of the many to the few, and to do it without ever having to taste mace. Further more, outside of the government, there is a rather large spiritual war going on, and most of us don't even care to join. So make your signs, march into the loop next week and see what comes of it all. I'll be as far away as humanly possible, probably helping some friends with projects, spending time with family, organizing within my community, doing yoga, learning reiki, reading on a variety of topics, or any other number of activities that doesn't pander to the circus "they" are trying to draw us into. If you want to protest! Start with McDonalds! If you'd like to make a sign! Make one that says "I LOVE YOU" and carry it with on the CTA everyday & if you want to help others! Start with the people who live on your block, in your apartment complex's, and in your very home. Protesting is not just about standing on a corner, sitting in at places they've made illegal for you to loiter in, and hoping you won't have to suffer the consequences of your actions. The world has been evolving at an alarming rate since the internet has shown us a newer, dare I say more efficient path, and a lot of the ways we use to do things just don't work anymore. So this is my humble cry to the masses. STAY HOME! Organize through the silicone highway and don't give them a chance to use all those new toys they've been developing. I love everyone of you and hope nothing bad happens. Thank you for reading, sharing (if you choose to) and subscribing. Keep it locked here, much more to come, much more to share, and explore. Peace n Flow PwT
